CPD Continuous professional development
Here at Enigma, we are committed to providing our customers best experience throughout their project with us. The Enigma pocket doors were conceived through a passion for innovation, and with this it is always a constant learning curve on how we can improve the product to give the customer an unmatched door.
Our dedicated team are always learning and finding ways to improve and adapt with the construction industry. That is why we have come up with dedicated CPD for Enigma, for us to share our learnings with the industry. The CPD is called continuous professional development. It works well for us because as a company we enjoy educating different practices to share our knowledge, answer your questions and guide you through our range of products, services, and industry requirements.
The CPD is a free course and will focus on technical fundamentals of the perfect pocket door and how important they are to creating spatial adaptability and enhancing interior design.
It will be broken down into two sections:
Introduction:
In this section, we will be covering the basic knowledge of a pocket door and understand what really is a pocket door and what applications are there for pocket doors as it can be a confusing point in the construction industry. The complete system is an important topic as if its not complete, you may experience problems down the line, so it is key to be aware of the importance of the complete system. Wall interfaces, build-ups and thickness is always a big topic as all walls are different so your door thickness could differentiate throughout a development. These elements pertain to how the door system interacts with the wall structure, the way the wall is built around the pocket door, and the measurements and materials required to accommodate the door’s hardware and functionality.
Fire and acoustic performance rating will vary depending on the door and where the door is going to be. It is important to be aware of the regulations and any upcoming changes, so your door is compliant and safe for the development. For example, all national standards have been removed from building regulations with regard to fire protection performance, so all of the parts of BS476 for both reaction and resistance to fire in approved document B have been removed. Only the EN standards can be used to define performance from the end of the 5-year coexistence period which is 2nd September 2029.
